The New Hampshire Department of Education (Department) announced the selection of Discovery Education’s award-winning K-12 learning platform to support all New Hampshire learning environments with high quality instructional material.
Created by a team of education experts at Discovery Education— a worldwide edtech leader supporting learning wherever it takes place—this platform is available through the state’s Canvas Learning Management System to students and teachers across the state, including traditional and charter public schools, non-public schools, home education students and now, students enrolled in an Education Freedom Savings account program.
“This is really a win for everyone; students, families and teachers across the state. No matter what school district they live or work in or what education program they choose, they will now have access to high quality instructional materials,” stated Frank Edelblut commissioner of education. “The federal relief funds are targeted to close the gap on any learning loss coming out of the pandemic. With this resource, all of our children will have access to instructional materials to excel.”
Connecting educators to a vast collection of high-quality, standards-aligned content, ready-to-use digital lessons, intuitive quiz and activity creation tools, and professional learning resources, Discovery Education’s platform—Experience—provides educators a recently enhanced learning platform to facilitate engaging, daily instruction in any learning environment.
New Hampshire joins Nevada, South Carolina, and Arizona in providing the Discovery Education platform to teachers and students statewide.
As part of this new partnership, New Hampshire’s educators will also receive ongoing professional learning designed to help them realize the return on the state’s edtech investment. In addition, the state’s educators will also receive the support of the Discovery Education Community. This global community of education professionals connects members in school systems and around the world through social media, virtual conferences, and in-person events, fostering valuable networking, idea sharing, and inspiration.
“Discovery Education is honored to be selected by the New Hampshire Department of Education to support the education of K-12 students statewide,” said Scott Kinney, Discovery Education’s Chief Executive Officer. “We share Commissioner Edelblut’s vision for improving education for all of his students, and we look forward to working with his talented team and with educators across the state to support the success of all students.”
