Aperture Education and the Devereux Center for Resilient Children have created “Promoting SEL at Home,” a set of free resources to help parents and caregivers teach social-emotional learning skills to their children.
“Promoting SEL at Home” includes eight brief, parent-friendly guides, each focusing on a key social-emotional strength:
- Optimistic Thinking
- Self Awareness
- Self-Management
- Social Awareness
- Relationship Skills
- Goal-Directed Behavior
- Personal Responsibility
- Decision-Making
Each guide includes developmentally appropriate strategies for all children from infancy through high school! The guides also include suggestions for parents, caregivers, and other adults to support their own well-being.
