District Administration Names PresenceLearning’s Therapy Essentials a Top EdTech Product of 2022

PresenceLearning, the leading provider of online therapy solutions for schools and clinicians, has earned another award for Therapy Essentials, its solution to support school-based special education and counseling teams in delivering services to students. Therapy Essentials was named a winner in District Administration’s second annual Top Ed Tech Products of the Year awards. With this award, the solution has now won a total of seven awards since its launch in 2020, including winning last year’s District Administration’s Top Ed Tech Products of the Year awards.

Special Education for the Digital Age

Students today have grown up with digital technology, and more and more schools are wisely integrating it into their service delivery models. Therapy Essentials offers clinicians an opportunity to meet students in an online environment that excites them. Unlike generic video conferencing, the award-winning PresenceLearning platform gives clinicians a range of tools to engage students with teletherapy, and help them to refocus when distractions inevitably arise.

“The PresenceLearning platform allows for each student’s therapy to be highly individualized. It makes planning and creating materials to meet individual needs and interests 1,000 times easier than other platforms,” said Karen Totman, a speech-language therapist at Maine School Administrative District 75.

It also empowers clinicians to serve children in school or at home, and helps districts retain skilled staff members who need to relocate or prefer the flexibility and efficiency of remote work.

Key features of Therapy Essentials include:

  • Best-in-class technology features the FERPA and HIPAA compliant PresenceLearning platform with tools to manage their sessions and each student’s IEP.
  • An engaging digital content library and assessments for personalizing each child’s therapy experience.
  • Ongoing partnership and support, including professional learning opportunities, in-platform chat support, and connections with clinical colleagues.

The Top Ed Tech Products of the Year awards honor the most innovative new or updated solutions on the market that are helping district leaders meet the ever-evolving technology needs of their schools. This year, District Administration received about 130 submissions, and the panel reviewed each one, narrowed the list, and watched demos before deciding on the final 15 products as the best of the best.

Upcoming Presentation

PresenceLearning will present Therapy Essentials during the Future of Education Technology Conference (FETC) at the Top Ed Tech Products session on Thursday, January 27, 2022 at 2 pm ET in the STEM Theater, expo booth 3149. They will provide an overview of Therapy Essentials and how it supports districts.

Since 2020, PresenceLearning has on-boarded hundreds of school districts across the country to Therapy Essentials and helped educate thousands of school-based clinicians in using Therapy Essentials to serve students through teletherapy. It helps districts to diversify and sustain their service delivery model, for the benefit of both students and staff alike. Students gain a personalized and engaging therapy experience to help meet their learning goals and clinicians gain a flexible, online method of identifying student needs and serving students continuously from wherever they and their students are located.
