Discovery Education’s K-12 Platform Earns Prestigious EdTech Awards in Multiple Categories

Discovery Education’s K-12 platform—the comprehensive digital service featuring compelling, high-quality, standards-aligned content and ready-to-use digital lessons for all curricular areas—was recently announced as the winner of The EdTech Awards in both the Content Provider Solution and Curriculum and Instruction Solution categories. Discovery Education is the global leader in standards-aligned digital curriculum resources, engaging content, and professional learning for K-12 classrooms.

Now in the 11th year, The EdTech Awards are administered by Edtech Digest. The largest recognition program in all of education technology, The EdTech Awards recognizes the biggest names in education technology.

“The worldwide pandemic put education and training to the test, but remote learning and working—in many unexpected ways—ultimately brought us closer,” said Victor Rivero, who as Editor-in-Chief of EdTech Digest. “These awards celebrate the many outstanding people, services, and companies that kept students and teachers across the country and around the globe connected to learning, and I salute all the finalists and winners of this year’s awards.”

Discovery Education’s K-12 learning platform connects educators to a rich collection of compelling, high-quality, standards-aligned content, ready-to-use digital lessons, and professional learning resources updated monthly to meet the ever-evolving needs of educators. These resources, sourced from trusted partners, are aligned to state and national standards, and help educators bring the outside world into teaching and learning every day on any IT architecture.

In addition, the following were named finalists:

  • Discovery Education Science Techbook for Middle School in the Science Solution category
  • Discovery Education as the EdTech Company Setting a Trend category
  • Discovery Education CEO Scott Kinney in the National Leader of the Year category

The Discovery Education Science Techbook for Middle School was updated in October 2020 and is a comprehensive, research-backed science solution combining digital-first teaching and learning resources to deliver impactful, blended instruction in person or at a distance. The Techbook connects students to their inner curiosity by placing them at the center of each three-dimensional learning experience. Hands-on and virtual investigations, STEM activities, and a variety of teacher supports bring the excitement of science to life wherever learning takes place.

“Discovery Education is honored to be recognized by The EdTech Awards program in 2021,” said Scott Kinney, Discovery Education Chief Executive Officer. “When COVID-19 struck the U.S., teachers and students nationwide worked hard to maintain students’ continuity of education, and we are proud to have supported their efforts. Discovery Education thanks the team at EdTech Digest for this validation of our efforts, as this positive feedback will drive our team to continue finding new ways to help educators accelerate students’ academic achievement.”
